The Kurd scale (also called Annaziska) is one of the most popular and dynamic scales in the world. It is a versatile, deep and brooding scale. I think of it as a great composition tool, lots of emotion both tension and a lighter side as well. Most handpan scales are pentatonic or hexatonic, meaning they are missing a few notes out of a “full scale”. However, the Kurd scale is a fully diatonic D minor, and for this reason is favored by many top players around the world! With the Kurd scale, you have so many accessible chords at your disposal that composing is effortless. Endless inspiration lies in the Kurd scale! This model includes a C3. E3. F3 and G3 on the bottom shell to open up even more chord tonalities! F major and C major are much stronger with these added low notes to provide even more diversity to the moods you can create!
This instrument is part of our NEW extended Amulet+ series with bottom notes as well! By adding some low bass notes to the bottom of our most common scales, you can get an extremely versatile instrument for a lifetime of inspiration and new ideas!

Each Amulet is hand shaped overseas before it is meticulously fine tuned and stabilized in house by Hamsa maker Stevan Morris. By outsourcing part of the process, we are able to offer these instruments at a new price point, while still guaranteeing they are well tuned here in our shop in Los Angeles! We have high standards and would never put the Hamsa seal of approval on anything we were not proud of.
