Hamsa Handpan Family

Stevan Morris

Founder of Hamsa Handpans and Pantasia Handpan Gathering

Stevan was born and raised in San Diego, CA, where he developed a passion for music at a young age. He always had a knack for learning new instruments, picking up piano, trombone, bassoon, drums, bass, and more by age 12.

He had many early musical opportunities while attending Mount Carmel High School, including marching in the famous New Year’s Day Rose Parade. In 2008, he graduated and went on to the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music in Long Beach, CA, studying percussion performance.

While in college, Stevan deepened his love for melodic percussion, specializing in marimba and steel pan. It was here that he first heard of and met the local steel pan builder, David Beery, owner of Dave’s Island Instruments, and his future boss and mentor. It was here Stevan was first introduced to the handpan!

In 2015, Hamsa Handpans was born out of a dream to create these magical, life changing instruments so more people could have the same profound, healing experiences.

Stevan is also an avid performer and has recorded 2 full length studio albums, “Channel” in 2014 and “7+1=8” in 2021. Both can be found on Spotify!
