Pantasia Handpan Gathering 2023
Every year, a diverse and beautiful bunch from around the globe gather in the serenity of nature to bask in the sounds and love that radiate from these special instruments. As much as this is a music event, it is also a community event. Most come for the handpans, but leave thinking of the people and lifelong connections made.
When: Thursday – Sunday, June 1-4th 2023
Thursday attendees will start arriving mid day. Friday and Saturday will be filled with workshops and concerts. Sunday pack out by 11 AM.
Where: YMCA Camp Big Bear, Big Bear Lake, CA
After 7 years basking in the glow of the deserts of Joshua Tree National Park, we are migrating to the mountains close by! Big Bear Mountain is a local treasure, giving southern California some much needed nature and seasons! Pantasia founder Stevan has many fond memories of winters sledding on the slopes, and summers kayaking on the lake! We will be staying at a private YMCA camp called Camp Big Bear. This year we are also moving into early summer time, June 1-4th, to enjoy all of the lovely outdoor amenities the camp provides. Pack your hiking shoes, but also your swimsuit! The surrounding nature has much to explore, and the venue is waterfront on the beautiful Big Bear Lake. There are canoes for the lake, a rock climbing wall, zipline, archery range, heated pool, and so much more all included in your stay at Camp Big Bear.

We have a star studded line up for this year’s workshops and concerts! Dan Mulqueen and Four Birds (Louis L.) to name a few. We will be announcing more soon!
What:
Tickets are all inclusive. Camp Big Bear provides 3 meals a day, please let us know of any dietary restrictions or needs. Lodging is cabin style bunkbeds, please bring your own linens i.e. blankets or a sleeping bag and a pillow. Private rooms are available at an extra charge. You are also granted access to all workshops and performances for the weekend, as well as all amenities offered by Camp Big Bear.
We welcome all ages and all skill levels to join us in the beautiful scenery and dive deeper into the world of singing steel.
This year Hamsa Handpans wants to offer scholarship tickets to people who may not be able to afford the event. Every $550 we raise provides a free ticket to someone who deserves it but couldn’t make it. If you know someone who deserves a scholarship ticket please email us at stevan@hamsahandpans.com. average donation is $25 but anything helps.
